For the production of temporary base plates.

Pre-treatment of the model
Heat the odontoscopic plate until it shows the desired flexibility. Immediately afterwards apply the plate to the model and press it on until the plate assumes the desired shape. Repeat the heating and the compression steps until the plate is perfectly shaped. Cool down at ambient temperature so that the plate regains its dimensional stability.
Finishing
Heat the plate on site and cut off all excess material using scissors. Finishing also involves milling, grinding, sanding and polishing the plastic surface in increasingly fine gradations. The edge may be made glossy by using a small gas flame
